Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Grabs Top Spot Again
With a long list of standard features and more than 1,700 versions now available to order direct from the manufacturer, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has once again been voted Van of the Year at the annual Export & Freight Transport & Logistics Awards – for an unprecedented fifth year running at this event.
The award, sponsored by My Ireland Jobs, was presented at a glittering ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in South Belfast which was attended by around 600 guests from all sectors of the transport and logistics industry and compered by the BBC’s Mark Simpson.
Organised by the Hillsborough based publishers of Export & Freight magazine, 4SM (NI) Ltd, the event, which was first staged way back in 2001, is Ireland’s premier platform of recognition for those operating in the transport and logistics sector; it celebrates and rewards the very best in an industry that continues to meet its challenges head-on with resilience and perseverance.
The Mercedes-Benz 315 Sprinter, which beat off stiff competition from several other leading manufacturers, comes with an array of state-of-the-art technology and equipment, leading the way with a powerful suite of sixth sense safety and security features as standard – including Active Brake Assist, Crosswind Assist, Attention Assist, Hill-start Assist and Headlight Assist.
Equally reassuring are the Sprinter’s alarm, deadlock and visible VIN, which come as standard too. And as if that wasn’t enough, you can also choose from a class-leading array of optional extras.
It also features state-of-the-art MBUX technology and is fitted as standard with a high resolution 7-inch touchscreen, offering intuitive touch control and enables Mercedes PRO connect services. You can also upgrade to a 10.25-inch display with HD resolution for additional features
The driver’s working environment is spacious, uncluttered, comfortable and above all, practical, with ergonomically shaped seats, keyless start and an improved air conditioning system, together with a touch-capable multifunction steering wheel, alongside wireless charging for smartphones.
