Taking centre stage on the Mercedes-Benz Trucks stand at RTX 2026 was a specially commissioned Actros Procabin; the first UK example specified with full air suspension, swivel seat bases, and custom bodywork celebrating 30 years of Actros.
This heavily modified UK showtruck was specially prepared with a raft of features and aesthetic upgrades, inside and out, to show off the best of Mercedes-Benz Trucks innovation over its 130-year history, which is also celebrated this year. Over the course of the show, Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK recorded exceptional levels of engagement with its bespoke Actros, with Exposure Analytics tracking technology revealing that nearly 7,000 attendees viewed the truck up close over the three days.
Nick Ford, PR & Communications Manager, Daimler Truck UK, commented: “This truck showcases all the innovation Mercedes-Benz Trucks has become known for over the past 130 years, while celebrating the UK launch of air suspension and swivel seats, two additions that will enhance driver comfort and safety. We don’t just think the Actros ProCabin is the star of the show; this specially commissioned truck is a real highlight in Actros’s storied 30-year history.”
The custom design, developed by Daimler Truck UK Key Account Manager, David Simm, in coordination with CVC UK, Kuda Automotive and Kirk Coachworks, is a one-of-one tractor unit based on an Actros L Giga ProCabin in a 6x2 mid-lift configuration. It is powered by the third-generation, 12.8-litre OM 471 engine, a compact unit that balances power and fuel efficiency.
The front of the truck features a striking custom front bumper module with additional lighting and low-bar. This theme continues up top with a tubular lighting rig complete with spotlamps and a 30 Years of Actros motif. More custom bodywork features along the side and rear of the truck, and a special chequerplate catwalk is complemented by the unique 30 Years of Actros A-frame and fifth-wheel cover on the frame.
Inside the truck, there is a suite of new features aimed at enhancing driver comfort, safety and efficiency - including those inspired by driver feedback. These are headlined by the UK-first installation of swivel seat bases for the driver and passenger, which rotate around a fixed point on the floor, and are perfect for adapting the seating in the cabin to provide flexible space to relax after a long shift. Both seats feature heating and air-cooling functions as well as a massage programme to keep occupants feeling comfortable and relaxed on a long drive. They can be pointed towards the extra-large television, complete with smart streaming services, or while utilising the built-in microwave at meal times. There’s even an aluminium table that folds out of the dashboard on the passenger side.
Premium touches around the cabin include leather door handles and dashboard top, plus a 150cm deep comfort mattress with air pockets and memory foam, to ensure the ProCabin is a true home from home.
The appearance of the Actros ProCabin at RTX also formed part of Mercedes-Benz Trucks' celebration of 30 years of the Actros. Since its launch in 1996, the model has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of operators, with the latest ProCabin combining improved aerodynamics, greater efficiency and enhanced driver comfort to carry the iconic nameplate into its fourth decade.
